2008 Award Recipients Announced

On April 23, President George W. Bush met with the 2007 Baldrige Award Recipients to congratulate them at the White House. Senior leaders from the five organizations, PRO-TEC Coating Co.,Leipsic,Ohio; Mercy Health System,Janesville, Wisconsin; Sharp HealthCare, San Diego, California; City of Coral Springs,Coral Springs, Florida; and the U.S. Army Armament Research,
Development and Engineering Center, Picatinny Arsenal,New Jersey, were introduced to the President.

Quest for Excellence XX Conference

The Quest for Excellence® XX Conference, held April 22–25 at the Hilton Washington in Washington, D.C., featured PRO-TEC Coating Company (in the small business category);
Mercy Health System and Sharp HealthCare (in the health care category); and the City of Coral Springs, Florida, and the U.S. Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (in the nonprofit category). Over 1,000 people attended some or all portions of the conference.

20th Anniversary Gala Celebration

Approximately 700 people attended a special Gala Celebration to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Baldrige Program. The event was held on Tuesday evening, April 22, at the Hilton Washington.
