State Examiner Training for 2005 Award Cycle

You are Invited to Participate in a Special Professional and Personal Opportunity.

Interested in professional development? In boosting your career? In becoming your organization's internal expert on the Criteria for Performance Excellence? Do you take a systematic view of quality? Would you like to be part of an exciting new organization in Colorado?

If the answer to any of these questions is YES! then we hope you will consider becoming an examiner for the 2005 Colorado Performance Excellence application cycle. Colorado Performance Excellence, the state's quality award using the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria is seeking volunteer examiners for its 2005 application cycle.

What are the benefits to being an examiner?

  • Opportunity to be your organization's internal expert on performance.
  • To network with other people interested in performance excellence.
  • To apply a system view of performance excellence in an organization.
  • Help Colorado organizations improve and excel.
  • Contribute to your professional development, including analytical and writing skills.
  • In-depth learning about how organizations work.

What are your time commitments as an examiner?

  • Complete the Examiner registration.
  • Complete the case study prior to training (approximately 40 hours)
  • Participate in two days of challenging and rewarding training in April that will be provided in Denver (16-18 hours of contact time)
  • Evaluate applicant organizations using either the Foothills, Timberline or Peak Performance Criteria and complete the score book (approximately 20-40 hours) It might be possible that your applicant has a site visit to clarify questions and to verify performance. If so, there is another two days for evaluating the organization and finalizing the feedback report.

What are the Fees? Examiners are appointed for a one-year term. Examiners may reapply for additional service. Out-of-pocket fees are $250.00 for the two-day training ($175.00 for members of government, not-for-profit or educational organizations). Additional discounts are available for Sponsors and returning Examiners.

How do I Apply? The examiner registration is now available. Examiner registrations need to be postmarked (or received electronically) by March 22, 2005. You may download a 2005 Board of Examiners Application form in either MS Word or PDF format.
