An Overview of the Consultant Referral Service The Consultant Referral Service is a unique tool. This service is intended to refer customers to a pre-qualified pool of consultants who can provide services that extend beyond the CPEx mission. The Referral Service can connect customer specific needs such as performance excellence, deployment, planning, strategic planning, process improvement, complex internal, multi-state assessment, or other customer-specific consultant services to qualified consultants by providing them with a mechanism to select a consultant specific to their needs. Many organizations today have trainers, facilitators, coaches, examiners, or speakers who specialize in some aspect of organization improvement. Our referral service enables customers that desire to hire consultants the ability to select a consultant with extensive knowledge and experience with Baldrige criteria. What makes this service unique? Two things. First, it focuses on organizational improvement utilizing the Baldrige criteria. There are many tools that help locate doctors, dentists and plumbers, but there are very few resources available to locate organizational improvement consultants with a strong understanding of how to apply the Baldrige criteria. Second, the tool allows the hiring organization (the "client") to narrow their search for consultants that meet their specific requirements by obtaining referrals from a pre-qualified pool of consultants. Want More Information? Overview of How the service works The process is simple and follows four basic steps: Step 1: Consultants register. The first step is for consultants to enter information about their firm (or practice or sole proprietorship). This information includes contact information, firm expertise and capabilities, and billing information. Consultants are also required to agree to a Statement of Ethics and Consultant Agreement as a prerequisite for being listed. It takes just a few minutes to complete the information. Upon receipt of the submission, the CPEx Board verifies information, checks references (as needed) and lists consultants for one year. To register, Click here. Step 2: Client enters requirements. Throughout the year, organizations seeking improvement expertise will visit this service to identify and screen resources. They will sign on and enter their requirements in terms of subject matter expertise sought, type of assistance sought (consulting, training, coaching, etc), sector/industry experience desired, preferred location and size of consultant's firm, and desired years of consultant's experience.
